Peptide Reconstitution Calculator - How It Actually Works

A reconstitution calculator just tells you how much liquid your dose becomes after you add bacteriostatic water. There is no universal number — it depends on what you put in peptide reconstitution calculator.

  • You need 3 numbers:
  • You add 2 mL water.
  • 5 mg = 5000 mcg.

Concentration = 5000 mcg / 2 mL = 2500 mcg per mL.

If you want a 250 mcg dose:

250 / 2500 = 0.1 mL. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 0.1 mL = 10 units.

If you had added only 1 mL instead, concentration would be 5000 mcg/mL, and that same 250 mcg dose would be 0.05 mL = 5 units.

That’s why adding more water doesn’t change your dose, it just makes it easier to measure small doses.

Always label the vial with date, mg/mL, and use sterile technique. Reconstituted peptides need to be refrigerated and have a limited shelf life. If you’re unsure about your vial, dose, or storage, check with your pharmacist or prescriber before using it.
